Composting begins this week at NC State’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
An integral piece to CVM’s commitment to sustainability, compost bins will be placed within the CVM Main Building, the Research Building and the Terry Companion Animal Veterinary Medical Center restrooms and breakrooms beginning Wednesday, July 8 through Friday, July 10. Faculty, staff, students and visitors can help NC State divert waste from the landfill and meet its sustainability strategic goals by composting the following items:

Paper towel composting bins will be placed in each restroom. - All Food
- Organics (plant material/ flowers)
- Coffee grounds
- Paper towels & napkins

Composting is one of many approaches to achieve zero waste at NC State, which also includes source reduction, reuse, and recycling!
The College of Veterinary Medicine has been an active participant in each of these areas, including creating specialized recycling programs for both Plastic Film and Syringe Cases.
